Kenton County
       County Maintenance Facility
       Kenton County, Kentucky

The recipient of Ohio AIA Award for excellence in design.

The County Maintenance Garage for Kenton County is a complex of three buildings on a gently sloping site adjacent to the Kenton County Golf Course and Banklick Woods Park. One building provides administrative facilities; another building is devoted to truck maintenance and storage. The third building is an open shed structure which provides shelter for salt storage and equipment. The complex totals approximately 33,400 square feet.

Because of the high degree of visibility from the golf course and the park, the architectural design was of particular importance. The gabled roofs, low profiles, and palette of color are all derived from local building types in Northern Kentucky. The outdoor equipment storage area was carefully positioned on the site to preserve the natural park-like setting.
