       Rehabilitation of Sharon Woods Lake
       Cincinnati, Ohio

The Hamilton County Park District engaged A. M. Kinney to provide creative and innovative engineering services for the rehabilitation/restoration of Sharon Woods Lake. The goal of the project was to restore the lake and surrounding area to a healthy, natural state and then insure that the lake, trails and picnic areas remain in these conditions. The scope of the work included the following activities: sediment trapping areas in upstream tributaries to keep as much sediment as possible from entering the lake; low flow bypassing system to route daily runoff from the golf course and other adjacent properties around the lake thus preventing nitrate and other chemical build up; golf course storm water detention basin; rehabilitation of existing boat dock facilities; wetland zone improvements; shoreline stabilization; permanent sediment disposal sites; future maintenance sediment disposal sites.
