       Streetscape Renovations
       Cincinnati, Ohio

Part of Cincinnati's master plan for revitalization of the downtown district, this multiple phase project included pedestrian and vehicular paving, street amenities and landscaping of several city blocks. The design conformed to construction standards and specifications adopted by the City of Cincinnati to maintain design consistency throughout the downtown area. Along with aesthetic criteria, the issue of life safety, durability, maintenance and cost guided the design.

The purpose of this study was to delineate a proposed bikeway trail beginning at Bicentennial Commons, following the Conrail rail corridor east, and terminating at the intersection of Tusculum Ave. and Eastern Ave. in the East End. This 4-1/4 mile trail would provide commuter access to Downtown Cincinnati, continuous scenic views of the Ohio River Valley, and an exciting new recreational asset to the community. The study included plans, grade profiles, and cross sections through the proposed corridor at selected points. The proposed trail required regrading, paving, five (5) prefabricated bridges, and other amenities totaling $1,500,000.
